Village Hall temporarily closed

In an effort to preserve public health and welfare in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the State of Illinois Gubernatorial Disaster Declaration of March 9, 2020 and the subsequent Executive Orders signed by JB Pritzker, in conjunction with current recommendations from the CDC, the Village of Rockdale Village Hall will be closing to the public as of 5:00 p.m. on April 2, 2020.  There will, however, be Village Staff available to assist the public and Village residents by telephone or email.  Members of the public can also communicate with the Village via email at [email protected] or [email protected]

The regular Village Board meetings set for April 7, 2020 and April 21, 2020 are canceled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The next Village Board meeting will be on May 5, 2020, provided that the current shelter in place Executive Order is not extended.  Please check the Village website ( or the Village Hall for further updates.

Water Bill or other bill payments can be made by using the Village drop box located outside Village Hall, 79 Moen Ave. Rockdale.  Village yard waste bags can be purchased at J & M Food Store (Nick’s Corner Store) 519 Moen Avenue.

The Village anticipates re-opening May 1, 2020 at the termination of the current shelter in place Executive Order, but will continue to monitor the situation and post updates at Village Hall and on the Village website.  Please direct any non-emergency inquiries to either of the email addresses above or the Village main number at (815) 725-8937 and Village staff will get back to you as soon as possible.

For an emergency matter, please dial 911.  For any non-emergency or essential police matter, please be advised that the Rockdale Police Department remains open.  You can reach the Police Department at (815) 725-2171.  Thank you.
