IDOT is planning on reopening the southbound Larkin Avenue ramp to eastbound I-80 tonight, September 18. The ramp should be open to traffic by 5 a.m. Friday, September 19. Below is IDOT’s press release and a link to the press release on IDOT’s website.
Southbound Larkin Avenue ramp to eastbound I-80 reopens Sept. 19
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that as part of ongoing efforts to rebuild Interstate 80 from Ridge Road in Minooka to U.S. 30 in Joliet and New Lenox, the reconstructed ramp from southbound Larkin Avenue (Illinois 7) to eastbound I-80 is scheduled to reopen, weather permitting, Friday, Sept. 19.
Starting at 8 p.m. tonight, Sept. 18, lane closures will take place on eastbound I-80 between Houbolt Road and Larkin Avenue. At least one eastbound lane will remain open to traffic. The lanes that were closed overnight and the new Larkin Avenue ramp will open by 5 a.m. tomorrow.
