Residential and Rental Property Nuisance Abatement Ordinance
Our Board Members and Village will now have in place a series of Village Ordinances which will keep or Village a clean and respectful place to live. The focus is on violators of our Ordinances on a continual basis. We will have our Village Code-enforcement Officer who will have the authority to inspect and report Code-Enforcement violations to our building codes, fire codes, zoning restrictions, etc., to improve the quality of life and resolve life safety issues within our Village. Some of the conditions might include hazards of fire, accident or other calamities; lack of adequate ventilation, light or sanitary facilities; dilapidation; disrepair; structural defects; un-cleanliness; failure to comply with the requirements of the building code or the certificate of occupancy. All of this is designed to be a fair and reasonable review process by an inspection expert who will address property ownership and rental issues which will include a nuisance abatement program.
Our goal is to keep the Village of Rockdale a pleasant place to live. Village Board members remain diligent with their efforts make life in Rockdale a pleasant place to live and raise a family.
WATER and SEWER RATES and CHARGES starting February 1st, 2023.
Residential sewer service without water service.
For each residential (single-family) user of the sanitary sewer system who cannot be supplied with village water through the existing water distribution system, the charge shall be:
Effective February 1, 2023
$57.90 per month, payable monthly for sewer service.
Residential users, municipal users and schools.
For each single-family residential, school, or municipal user of the combined waterworks and sewerage system, the monthly charges shall be as follows:
- For water, a rate of: $13.65
per 1,000 gallons of water, to be billed monthly.
- For sewer, a rate of: $17.55
- The minimum monthly charge for water and sewer, combined, shall be: $31.20
Industrial users (lndustrial-1 and lndustrial-2).
Industrial users of the waterworks and sewerage system shall be classified by usage. The Industrial - 1 rate shall apply to users in the Industrial Zone whose usage is less than 1,000 gallons per month and the Industrial - 2 rate shall apply to users in the Industrial Zone whose usage is 1,000 gallons or greater per month. The monthly rates for water and sewer service for Industrial - 1 and Industrial - 2 users shall be as follows:
- For water, the Industrial - 1 rate shall be: Effective February 1, 2023 $38.70
per 1,000 gallons of water, to be billed monthly.
- For water, the Industrial - 2 rate shall be: Effective February 1, 2023 $108.85
per 1,000 gallons of water, to be billed monthly.
- For sewer, the Industrial - 1 rate shall be: $77.00
- For sewer, the Industrial - 2 rate shall be: $194.50
- The minimum monthly charge for sewer and water, combined, for Industrial - 1 users shall be: $115.70
- The minimum monthly charge for sewer and water, combined, for Industrial - 2 users shall be: $303.35
Discount Rate: All industrial users of the water system of the Village of Rockdale which use in excess of three million gallons per month as computed on the previous month's bill shall be granted a discount of $2.86 per 1,000 gallons used per month. In the event the City of Joliet supplies the water, the discount rate shall not
Sec. 82-47. General Business Users.
For all commercial enterprises and businesses in the Rockdale Business Zone, including taverns, restaurants, car washes and retail commercial businesses, the monthly charge shall be as follows:
- For water, a rate of: $19.35
per 1,000 gallons of water, to be billed monthly.
- For sewer, a rate of: $38.55
- The minimum monthly charge for sewer and water, combined, for General Business users shall be: $57.90
