Business Licensing for the Village of Rockdale:
• All Businesses must have updated/completed applications on file with the Village of Rockdale.
• Renewing Businesses must complete applications along with the $50.00 fee due by December 1st. Acceptable forms of payment: Cash, check or money order made payable to the Village of Rockdale.
• Any NEW business must turn in an application for review no later than 30 days prior to opening along with a copy of the business owner’s driver’s license. Businesses cannot operate until the application is reviewed and approved by the Village. Any Business in operation without a license will be closed until proper licensing is obtained.
• All licenses are valid for one calendar year beginning January 1st of each year until December 31st. Business license certificates must be displayed in a prominent location within the licensed premises or carry it on your person when conducting business.
• Per Village of Rockdale Ordinance Section 26-198, (b) failure to provide a complete written application prior to renewal shall result in a penalty of $10 per day-first five days; $20 per day second five days; $50 per day-third five days. After 15 days of noncompliance, will result in the loss of the license.
The Village of Rockdale licenses and regulates businesses that operate within the village limits under the regulations found in the Code of Ordinances.
