Lakeshore Recycling Waste & Disposal Services Regarding Personal Refuse Containers

Lakeshore Recycling Waste & Disposal Services has noticed an issue throughout the Village.  

There has been an increase in the use of personal refuse containers being placed out for collection. In many cases, these containers contain excessive amounts of waste and are not approved for service under the current program guidelines.

Moving forward, drivers will begin tagging personal containers to help educate residents on the collection requirements. Residents with an extra bag of refuse may place the bag next to their LRS cart for collection. However, the regular use of personal refuse containers is not permitted.

Please be mindful of the program guidelines. For households that consistently generate additional refuse, we encourage the use of an additional cart, which is available for $2.00 per month. This can be set up by contacting LRS directly at (815)725-4555. This option helps ensure service remains safe, efficient, and compliant with program requirements.
