Sec. 86-32 – Cutting required. It is hereby declared to be illegal for the owners of real estate located in the village to refuse or neglect to cut weeds and/or grass when the weeds and/or grass have reached a height in excess of eight inches. All weeds and/or grass, however, shall be cut, pulled or destroyed by the owner or person in charge or control of the real estate at least two times per year, once between May 1 and June 15, and once again between July 15 and August 15, in addition to any other times necessary to keep the weeds and grass from attaining a height of eight inches. (Code 1983, § 22-17; Ord. No. 465, § 2, 7-20-1971)
Must be in a 30-gallon paper bag and is picked up on Mondays by our Public Works team unless it is a holiday, then it will be picked up the next business day and is from April through the end of November.   Acceptable yard waste; leaves, grass clippings, garden or house plants, twigs. Unacceptable yard waste; sod, soil, sand, rocks, concrete.   Branches must be bundled and tied; approximately 3 ft long and no more than 30 lbs.
The 50/50 sidewalk replacement program is a village policy in where the resident fills out a building permit, along with a drawing of what squares are going to be replaced and obtain a quote.  Once approved by the Village Board, you will be contacted to proceed with the project.  When the project is completed, the resident pays the contractor in full, brings that paid receipt to village hall for a 50% reimbursement check.  Checks will be cut within 2 weeks of dropping off the paid receipt.
